Silicone Pasty Brushes: The one kitchen item you never knew you wish you had

 

This is the first set of Silicone Pastry Brushes that I have owned! I am used to the ones with the bristles that always fall out and the wood handles that end up cracking! Yes I have had some good times with my old pastry brushes! Looking at these brushes for the first time there was no doubt that these were going to be a different experience than my old ones. If it was going to be a good or bad experience I was not sure of yet! Picking them up the handle was clear and nice size ensuring a nice comfortable grip! The brush "bristles" were completely silicone which for some reason had me questioning the strength of them. I mean ingesting the hair like bristles on my old brushes was gross enough but  accidentally eating silicone! I just don't think that would digest well.

After a few tugs on the basting part my nervous thoughts were put to rest. There was NO WAY that any of them were coming off!  These are heavy duty Pastry Brushes! These are like Rat-L-Trap in your fishing tackle box once you use these you know you will no longer need to use anything else. They glide easily over your food and do a great job at basting nice and easily. They are actually heat resistant as well and you would never ever think that just by looking at them. The clean up is super easy and even if you forget to wash out right away you don't have to worry about your brush becoming hard and almost impossible to wash. Everything comes off within seconds.
